Baseboards & Base Molding

Illustration of neatly installed baseboard with a tight fitting miter.

Baseboards often take the most daily abuse of any trim in your house. They’re one of the first pieces of trim to show wear, and they’re also the first thing people notice when they’re done wrong. I install baseboard in finger-jointed pine (paint grade) or stain-grade hardwood, matched to your home’s existing profile or fully customized for a renovation.

Common Questions

How much does baseboard installation cost in Roanoke?

Pricing varies depending on the size and profile of baseboard you choose, along with the material it is made out of. Please reach out for a quote for an exact number.

MDF vs. real wood baseboard — which is right for my home?

I work with solid woods and finger jointed pine. MDF typically warps when it comes into contact with water. As this commonly happens during spills or while mopping, I generally do not recommend MDF.

Do you install baseboard on uneven/older floors?

Absolutely! I typically use shoe molding which is a great way to handle uneven floors. For projects that do not use shoe molding, I scribe each piece to the floor to ensure a tight fit, which is especially common in older Roanoke-area homes.

💡 Tip: Baseboards can be updated room by room. You can even have fun with different looks in different parts of your house.
